Kantakari powder is a perennial herb, traditionally used for treating cough, fever, and heart diseases. It has several pharmacological effects like antipyretic, antitumor, hypotensive, antianaphylactic, antiasthmatic, and aphrodisiac activities.

Classical hallmark: Pradhāna Kāsa–Śvāsa–Jvaraghna & Vātakaphahara dravya — foremost in Kāsa (cough), Śvāsa (asthma), Jvara, Śotha, and Urahśūla; a core constituent of Daśamūla (Laghu Pañcamūla).
