Description

Amaltas

Amaltas Pods and Bark of the Amaltas is extensively used by Ayurveda in India in the treatment of inflammatory swellings and as a cleaning agent for ulcers and wounds. It is believed to decrease purulent discharge and act as a local antiseptic. The fruits are also used as a laxative.

Explore the rich heritage of Ayurveda by delving into the wealth of knowledge found within ancient texts. Amaltas (Cassia fistula) stands as a revered choice among Ayurvedic practitioners, boasting a myriad of therapeutic benefits. From its laxative and antibacterial properties to its anti-inflammatory and hepatoprotective qualities, Amaltas has been a trusted remedy for centuries.

This medicinal plant, abundant in Indian habitats and the woodlands of South India, harbors alkaloids, flavonoids, and other potent compounds. Its diverse range of applications includes addressing skin diseases, heart problems, diabetes mellitus, and more. Despite its vast therapeutic importance, the comprehensive exploration of Amaltas in Ayurvedic literature remains somewhat limited.
