निर्गुण्डी कटुतिक्तोष्णा वातशूलप्रशामिनी।
शोथानिलविकारघ्नी स्वेदलेपेषु प्रशस्यते॥

Meaning

Nirgundī, pungent–bitter and hot, alleviates Vāta-induced pain and inflammation and is especially praised for fomentation and topical applications.
