Description
Sindoori Seeds
Sindoori Seeds is an Ayurvedic herb used to treat dyslipidemia, diarrhoea, and hepatitis since ancient times. People take Sindoori seeds for diabetes, diarrhea, fevers, fluid retention, heartburn, malaria, and hepatitis. They also use it as an antioxidant and bowel cleanser. Sindoori Seed is sometimes put directly on the affected area to treat burns and vaginal infections and to repel insects.
Classical hallmark: Pradhāna Rañjaka–Raktaprasādana–Kuṣṭhaghna dravya — valued in Tvak-roga (skin disorders), Raktadoṣa, Vraṇa-ropana, Kandu, and external coloring/medicated applications; seed coat (bīja-tvacā) and leaf are primarily employed.
Sindūrī is chiefly detailed in later nighaṇṭus and regional Ayurvedic practice.
